Apple to discontinuing Messages Beta for Lion on December 14th

Apple has issued a notice of 14 December as the date when OS X Lion users will lose the privilege of previewing their Messages. But, it doesn’t mean all is lost. The OS X Lion users who still have Lion 10.7 which was the original free beta download of Messages can still upgrade to Mountain Lion 10.8 and continue enjoy Messages.

The only setback with Mountain Lion 10.8 is that it is a paid app unlike its predecessor that users enjoyed for free. Nevertheless, considering that the Lion 10.7 was only a preview, you would understand why it is necessary to pay for this app. The app will cost you 20 USD which is quite reasonable if you are a user of Apple products. An email notifying users about this app was circulated by Cult of Mac but it could be in your junk folder, so you better check it out for more details.
