(Before It's News)

James Bottomley of the Parallels has come up with an explanation for Linux users as to why the open-source OS users don’t have a UEFI Secure Boot option for Windows 8. Bottomley is the CTO of Parallels’ a group that supports the Linux Foundation and promotes alternative OS.

Linux for Windows 8

Bottomley has said the condition laid by Microsoft for the Secure Boot-ready code are difficult, especially for open-source developers. He said there are clauses in the agreement which make it difficult for the people in the Linux community to work with the OS giant. However, he expressed his satisfaction saying a lot of the challenges had been overcome and a ‘specific’ key from the Linux Foundation may soon clear a major theoretical problem. How long it is going to take, however, is still not certain.
