The US based computer maker Dell have been busy with a new range of Windows 8 compatible laptops, the latest one is the Latitude E6430u Ultrabook, this fourteen inch, Intel Core powered laptop meets all of the requirements to be classed as an ultrabook, but there is more to this interesting machine. According to Dell this laptop will have a new option available, its WiGig and in fact this laptop will be one of the first offering this superfast wireless protocol, although we do not know just how much this technology is going to cost the consumer until the Latitude E6430u Ultrabook has been properly launched.
We do however have some of the features and specification for this laptop, such as the 14 inch display with HD in Anti-Glare and the LED back light glossy screen with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions and there is a built in HD web camera too. It is going to be running Windows 7 Home Premium operating system with optional upgrade to Windows 8. It will be running on the Intel Core (Ivy Bridge) processors with an option to choose from i3 (3217U), i5 (3427U) and the i7 (3667U).
There is support for the Mobile Intel QM77 Express Chipset and the graphics are coming from the Intel HD Graphics 4000 card. The internal memory can go up to 16 GB of DDR3 SDRAM at 1600 Mhz 2 DIMMS and there is an up to 256 GB solid state drive (SSD) for storage purposes. When it comes to networking there is the 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet, Dell Wireless 380 Bluetooth 4.0 and the Dell Wireless 1504 (802.11 g/n 1×1) options available. Other features include the Network connector (RJ-45), two fast connecting USB 3.0 ports one with USB/eSATA combo, VGA & HDMI display ports and there is the optional SmartCard Reader & Fingerprint Reader.
As for the size, it measures up at 13.31 inches (338.2 mm) (W) x 9.04 inches (229.7 mm) (D) x 0.82 inches (20.9 mm) (H) and it weighs in at 3.7 pounds (1.69 kg) with the 3 cell (36Whr) Li-polymer battery installed. The new Dell Latitude E6430u Ultrabook will be available online from the 15th November, when we assume Dell will be letting us know exactly how much this cool looking laptop will cost.
