(Before It's News)

Swann has been making security cameras and security-related items for 25 years. Their products are advanced for the most sophisticated CCTV systems, yet are affordable enough for the everyday consumer. Their latest offerings pair their video cameras with wireless Wi-Fi and mobile. Enter the SwannEye and SwannSmart Wi-Fi security cameras.

ADS-450 SwannSmart Wi-Fi Network Camera

The ADS-450 SwannSmart camera just needs a power source and a 802.11 B/G Wi-Fi or hard-wired network connection to function. It can be mounted anywhere in a stationary position. Once you mount it and connect it to your network, it streams video at 640×480 at 30 FPS in JPEG or MJPEG format with sound. It also can record up to 12 feet via its 8 infrared LED illuminated night vision as well.

ADS-440 SwannEye All-in-One IP Network Camera

Just like the ADS-450 SwanSmart, the ADS-440 SwannEye just needs just a power source and a 802.11 B/G Wi-Fi or hard-wired network to function and streams at 640×480 at 30 FPS with sound. However, the ADS-440 SwanEye expands on many of the features that the ADS-450 has. The SwanEye is not stationary, it can be controlled remotely to pan and tilt 350° horizontally and 100° vertically. It also has night vision that can see up to 32 feet. It can be setup for motion activated recording to an FTP and/or PC. It also has a speaker, for two-way remote communication.

Remote Controls

Both the ADS-450 SwanSmart and ADS-440 SwannEye can have their respective camera feeds viewed via Swann’s free Windows/Mac software and/or free Android/iOS app that’s for smartphones and tablets alike. Pictures and video can be saved locally on-demand via the mobile app. Additionally, video can be recorded via an optional secure cloud service that’s $5.99 a month with a one month free trial. Recording to the cloud is started once each video camera’s motion sensor is activated; once this occurs, notifications are sent to any mobile device with the app installed. You can also create your very own camera network, any number of these cameras can be controlled to work for you from the same program/app.

Purchasing

The ADS-450 SwanSmart and ADS-440 SwannEye both have an MSRP of $130 each, you can purchase the SwannSmart for $118.98 though Amazon and the SwanEye for $127.99 through Fry’s. Hopefully we’ll be getting our hands one or both of these cameras to test out. In the meantime, check out the rest of Swann’s vast array of products by clicking the button below.
