CES is known to house various different gadgets and electronics under its massive roof. But perhaps the most popular of them all is the simple, not-so-new TV. Of course, today’s TVs are quite different than those showcased by the same trade show a quarter of a century ago. While 25 years ago we were fascinated with giant color tubes of glass, today’s CES is a very different affair.
Today, Samsung announced that they will be bringing their all-new 85-inch 4K Ultra HD TV to CES for spectators to drool over. Aside from the given resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a 16:9 aspect ratio, little is known about Samsung’s new TV.
Big TVs are great and all. But honestly, they’re not as “wow” inducing as they were 10 years ago, 4K TVs included. Hell, we’ve already seen a few 8K TVs demoed too. Granted, this particular Samsung panel will allegedly be available for sale to the general public at some point next year.
How will Samsung’s new hotness compare to the legions of TVs on display from various other manufacturers. We’ll find out soon enough.
