Venus is low in the morning sky and is close to the crescent Moon on the 12th. On December 11 the crescent Moon s is close to Saturn.
Jupiter is in the morning sky near the Hyades. Jupiter is at opposition on the 3rd, when it is largest as seen from Earth, this is an ideal time for telescopic views of Jupiter. On the 26th the Moon and Jupiter are close.
Mercury returns to the morning sky this month, but is hard to observe.
The Geminid meteor shower is at maximum on the morning of December 14.
