Stop Using Default Social Shares On Your Web Site. Promote Your Own Social Profile – Not Someone Else’s

(Before It's News)

There are two things that I find very disappointing about web sites and blogs.

Web sites that don’t have built in social shares. Meaning, if I see a great article, I want to “click” a button and Tweet it or share it socially.

The second thing that’s annoying is that when I click a “share button”, for example, share to Twitter and instead of going to “@” the publisher’s social profile, it goes to Twitter or the profile of the vendor who is providing the share button.

Small business owners: Take a few minutes to customize your share buttons so that when people share your content, your social profile is included.

To that point, there’s a new WordPress plugin by Digital Marketing Agency, DragonSearch which you should check out – it let’s you customize how your readers share your online content – it’s DragonTweet: The Advanced Twitter Plugin – check it out here - DragonSearch.

DragonTweet creates personalized, optimized Tweets ready for sharing across the Twitter community. Created, designed and tested in-house by DragonSearch and approved by WordPress.org, DragonTweet turns end-users to power-users.

DragonTweet Tailors Your Twitter Identity

The Dragons at DragonSearch realized that when visitors shared content with the convenient “Tweet”  button on the company’s blog or web page, too often these auto-filled, formulaic Tweets were not Twitter nor user-friendly. Pulling information from the blog post or page title automatically, these Tweets did not fit Twitter’s 140 character limit or include tags, which made following the conversations with hashtags or “@tagging” friends and followers impossible. Instead of customizing their message, users ignored their options and posted standard auto-filled Tweet as is.

DragonSearch’s web developers built DragonTweet so bloggers and visitors can easily brand their Tweets and re-Tweets. DragonTweet integrates seamlessly with WordPress and Twitter.  Included as a back-end option for post-editing, this versatile social media tool puts control in the hands of content creators and allows for customization by a site’s individual visitors.

DragonSearch Custom WordPress Integration

DragonSearch came up with DragonTweet to solve for the competing problems Twitter-users always face: for the need for a fully-optimized social media experience and SEO page title, as well as an easy-to-use and fully-featured user experience.  The benefits of of DragonTweet include:

  • Rewrite the default Tweet for each post
  • Include hashtags and @mentions
  • Set or customize the preferred “via” Twitter handle(s)
  • Receive and set default follower recommendations
  • Choose location and size of Twitter button
  • Use custom URLs
  • Set use of Twitter counter
