(Before It's News)

Microsoft has signed a deal with Devicescape which is aimed at securing access to WiFi hotspots for its more than 11 million Windows Phone 8 users. The move will ensure that Windows Phone 8 users don’t have to worry about their security at the WiFi hotspots. Data Sense feature of Windows Phone 8 will be used to identify pre-approved WiFi access points of Devicescape.

Upon launching, Data Sense will pull up a Bing-powered map that shows all the hotspots close by and then evaluate them on account of signal strengths. For now, Verizon is the sole US carrier that is available on Data Sense, so you better be informed. It is only hoped that other mobile providers will see sense and embrace this advancement especially those who are also providing Windows Phone 8 handsets.
