AWeber Email Marketing Software Review
Sending emails to people who want to receive them is still one of the most effective ways to nurture professional relationships. AWeber email marketing software is a powerful, easy-to-use tool for executing effective and affordable email campaigns.
Features
One of most important components to effective email campaigns is managing and segmenting subscribers. Different people will want to receive different types of emails from you. Some may want to sign-up for your firm’s monthly newsletter. Others may want to receive more regular messages from you (i.e. tips, updates, blog posts, etc). The point is that you’re going to need a way to manage different subscriber lists. AWeber has some really nice features for managing subscribers. Their web form builder makes it really easy to customize the fields, look and feel of your web forms.
They also provide a pretty good assortment of HTML email templates from which to choose.
Of course, you can also build your own HTML email template from scratch and import existing templates.
They also do a nice job with autoresponder follow-up. This is especially useful for creating email drip campaigns.
Support
To me, support remains one of the most considerations in choosing a new software tool. If you’re new to email marketing, you’re going to have a lot of questions. Not only about using AWeber specifically, but also more generally about email best practices.
AWeber provides a variety of support options for help using their tools, as well as, how to set-up, test and monitor the effectiveness of various email campaigns. They offer the following support options:
- Live Phone Support
- Online Chat Support
- A Comprehensive Knowledge Base
- Live Instructional Webinars
- Video Tutorials
I’ve personally used their phone and chat support on several occasions. In my experience, their support folks communicated clearly and were usually able to resolve my issue or answer my question in under thirty minutes. I’ve also been able to connect with their support people in a relatively short amount of time (usually under five minutes).
Integrations
It’s also important to me that software is able to easily integrate with other solutions. AWeber Labs lists some popular apps and also has documentation and resources for developers to build integrations using their API.
While I don’t expect that most Lawyerist readers are likely to “roll-their-own” integrations, you may want to investigate how AWeber might work with some of your existing systems.
I’ve found AWeber’s integration with unbounce to be especially easy to implement.
Pricing
In my experience, most email marketing software solutions offer monthly pricing based on subscribers. AWeber follows this convention. Here are their advanced pricing plans at time of writing:

Not significantly different in my opinion. However, it’s worth noting that Mail Chimp appears more affordable for lower subscriber volumes and AWeber for higher numbers of subscribers.
