(Before It's News)

The popular saying is, “There is no free lunch.” But, our ConVirt Enterprise customers are finding this simply isn’t true. (No, we’re not giving away lunches.)

Users of ConVirt Enterprise and ConVirt Enterprise Cloud 3.0 with a current Gold Support and Maintenance package will receive VMware support as a free update. The software is now available. The addition of VMware as a supported platform for ConVirt Enterprise lets IT administrators manage all of their virtual infrastructure side-by-side with their private and public cloud deployments.

ConVirt Enterprise now includes support for VMware-based data centers that employ both ESXi and vCenter, in addition to Xen and KVM-based systems. Previously, a management tool this sophisticated for VMware users was only available to buyers of vSphere, which came with a significant price tag and restricted management to VMware platform only. For existing VMware vCenter users, there is no “rip-and-replace” required. ConVirt works alongside vCenter and is available to handle many of the most commonly executed tasks.

The addition of VMware support is another important part of our overall strategy to provide customers with the best tool for managing heterogeneous environments with a single pane of glass. The modern data center is a Tower of Babel of virtualization technologies and cloud platforms and we want to help manage them all.

So now, ConVirt Enterprise users, you can pick and choose, mix-and-match among the best technologies for your needs from KVM, Xen and VMware, to Eucalyptus, OpenStack and Amazon EC2. The choices are and should be all yours.

So not only is there a free lunch with our latest update, it offers an ever-growing variety of flavors. Dig in!
