Here is another new ultrabook, this time it is from the Australian based Pioneer Computers and it offers a fourteen inch touch screen display, a choice of Intel Core processors and there is a choice of HDD and SSD depending on the user’s requirements. They call this machine the DreamBook T14 Touch and because of the set up, it is offering all sorts of options and extras, from screen right through to the operating system and depending on the buyers choices at this stage the price is going to very massively from the $800 starting price.
There are many features to the DreamBook T14 Touch starting with the 14 inch screen offering LED BL, 3.6 mm Ultrathin Screen at 16:9, with Touch Screen of 1366 x 768 pixel resolutions and a built in 1.3 mega pixel web camera. It will be running on either Microsoft Windows 7 or the latest Windows 8 operating system and is going to be powered by the 3nd Generation Intel Core mobile processors the buyer can choose between the i3, i5 and the i7 version. There is support for the 3rd generation Intel Chief River HM77 chipset and the video is controlled by the Intel HD 4000 Graphic cards.
With up to 8 GB of 1600/1333 MHz DDR3 available and a further choice of either a 500 GB hard disk drive (HDD) or the thin and light 240 GB solid state drive (SSD) for storage purposes. As for networking there is the 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN, Bluetooth Combo Module and the 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN. Other features available are the RJ-45, DC-in, HDMI port, VGA (15Pin), two standard style USB 2.0 ports, one super fast connecting USB 3.0 port and the always handy Card Reader (SD). As for the size, this laptop measures in at 333 mm (W) x 229 mm (D) x 19 mm (H) to 20 mm (H) and weighs in at either 1.5 kg or 1.8 kg depending on the configuration, although this does include the Polymer Lion 8000 mAh 7.4V (59.2WHr) battery pack.
