The National Rifle Association broke its four-day social media silence Tuesday by announcing via Twitter a “major news conference” in Washington, D.C. set for Friday. In a linked release, the NRA promised “meaningful contributions” to “make sure this never happens again.”

The NRA’s Facebook page has also returned after being disabled, featuring a link to the release and a new cover photo reading “PRESS CONFERENCE.”
