Where size matters
DOI: 10.1039/C2NR33069E, Communication
We report an array of polymeric nanowires for effectively immobilizing biomolecules on biochips owing to the large specific surface area. The detection limit of biochips was improved by a factor of 50 compared to that of flat substrates. The improved sensitivity has been demonstrated to effectively detect the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antibody.
