(Before It's News)

YouTube just gets more and more cool by the day. Following in the footsteps of Google it is now extending its automatic captioning reach to six more languages. So now the list of languages will also include German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Russian and Dutch in addition to the existing languages of English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.

YouTube's automatic captions service

The company has named it Auto-caps, and it uses the same voice recognition algorithms that are employed in Google Voice. Those who use this speech software would know that it is not fool proof. So, one can expect that many things may be lost in translation. The site’s recent incorporation of the Google’s translation software will enable users to offer their captioned vids across a variety of languages.
