With the smartphone camera technology booming with extremely impressive quality, it’s no wonder companies produce accessories to enhance the already stellar pictures you take while on the go. We’ve seen lens attachments, tri-pod mounts, a whole slew of different items that will make those Instagram and Facebook photos so much more sexy. The Snappgrip takes this to a whole new level. Attaching to the provided case is a full set of controls to manage your photography skills.
A specially designed case that fits your iPhone 4/4S or iPhone 5 that has built in grooves that will allow the camera control to snap into place at the bottom of the device. This grip allows you comfortable and full access to all of the specially designed app’s controls. The app connects with the Snappgrip device via Bluetooth giving you complete control over the following:
The device is set to work with both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4/4S/5 and the app will be release for both iOS and Android. The grip features a threaded tri-pod mount as well as a MicroUSB port for charging, supposedly giving you 60 hours of standby time. Also thrown in will be a wriststrap loop for those hardcore photographers on the go.
If you are an really into photography, but find your smartphone a little uncomfortable for those long smartphone camera walks, the Snappgrip will be the perfect accessory for you. The funding is currently under way with 38 days to go. Lee Harris, one of the minds behind the project says production and release is slated for February 2013, as long as they hit their goal of £18,000.
There are different levels of pledge backers, but the most notable is the unbelievable introductory price of £19 which will get you the full package. Only 25 of those 100 slots are left, so get on it now! If you happen to be slow out of the gate, you’ll have to settle for the retail price of £29-£49, depending on how quickly you pledge.
Once production is set, we are slated to receive a review unit, which we are really stoked about. Sometimes a nice grip is always needed to snap that perfect photo, and we are hoping the Snappgrip fills that void. We should also be meeting up at CES 2013 to check out the prototype and hopefully get some hands on with it, and we’ll be sure to let you know how it goes!
