Sony products certainly don’t come cheap and the company is sticking to this strategy for pricing all its latest offerings also. Including the new camera. Its PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 CineAlta PL-mount cameras are available for $34,900 and $19,400, respectively for the two high end cam corders. This was announced in LA following a viewing of professionally shot 4K and HD footage. The PMW-F55 has better features enabling it to shoot 4K, 2K or HD footage using a global shutter. The F5 which is less costly can also handle 4K video but requires an add on of the AXS-R5 RAW recorder (at $6,300). It also has a narrower color spectrum and a rolling shutter.
