The photo sharing service launched a very cool data-driven microsite, showcasing photos from around the world as the clock strikes midnight.
As explained on the Instagram blog, the site — instagram.com/nye — aggregates photos from various locations within a specific timezone.
Rather than aggregating the photos by hashtag, Instagram tells us that the photos are “just popular photos from places that most recently rang in the New Year.”
