(Before It's News)

I was laying in bed lastnight playing around on my phone until all hours of the night as usual, when I saw a small post from Vic Gundotra hit my G+ feed. It was just two sentences long, as you can see above. If he can’t sleep, that means he is probably pretty excited about something that is going to hit the following morning. I tossed around a few ideas inside my head and had my hopes and dreams set on a potential announcement. My expectations were extremely high, and were shot down this morning. That doesn’t take away from what was released though.

Vic was all excited for the release of an update to Google Plus. One that went across Android, iOS and the web based versions. It was one heck of an update too. The update brought in a total of 24 new features and additions across both mobile platforms. The list is pretty stellar and one that you might just want to read through.

  • Updates include:
    Android app (v3.3):
    > On-the-go profile editing
    > Easier way to author content
    > Subtle notice when there’s new stuff to read
    > Subscribe to mobile notifications from your favorite circles

This is probably the single largest update to Google+ since it was launched. I know we are pretty excited to see it go up today. The gplusproject page also mentions that there will be other presents arriving in the next day or so.
