2 Million Downloads For “Storm8” On Christmas Day
Storm8, a San Francisco based game developer experienced two million downloads on the Christmas day; it’s their first big achievement.
Christmas has always proven an unpredictable day as many people unwrap their tech gifts, giving way to some exciting facts and figures for the day.
For Storm8, two million means four times more downloads than their normal routine. The company also witnessed 2.5 million hours of play and earned 4.5 times more than their daily routine for a single active player.
This hike is not only for Storm8, many other sectors also showed great stats on the day. Apps downloads were more than doubl on Christmas day, accounting to 328 million, attributed to Flurry, an analytical company observing more than 260,000 apps.
If Storm8 stats are compared with tech giants, Instagram’s Android version was downloaded 1 million times on its first day and 5 million times over the first week of its launch. Rovio had also claimed last year of generating 1 million downloads per day for their Angry Birds series.
Storm8 was founded by former Facebook employees, and are now a company of workforce more than 150, having over 400 million downloads until now ― surviving without any external funding.
