Creator of indie hit FEZ, Phil Fish experienced a tumultuous 2012. Eventually he was able to ship his long awaited game but not without critical praise. There was a documentary on how he put together the game that so him bag top honors at the Sundance Film Festival. But, that does not change his reputation as the man who excessively praises himself. Phil confirmed to his fans that Polytron is working on launching the indie hit to other platforms. You will not be surprised that he made this announcement on his website and of course in his usually exaggerated manner.
In the announcement, Phil confirmed to his fans that he had heard them through the many emails they have sent him accusing him of not being smart enough to port FEZ on other platforms and that he was finally working on actualizing that. Earlier in 2012, Phil came up with an update patch that did not work well, it erased the file saves of players and this got him into trouble with Microsoft. However, to him that was only a small issue that did not worth the price Microsoft asked for. He thought it was not important to correct the problem.
It can only be hoped that Steam and PlayStation which are the new platforms will allow Phil to get more freedom to update his FEZ. At the moment, the game is only available on Xbox Live for 1200 MS points. The game is interesting puzzle game. If you are interested in the documentary about how it was put together as well as other success stories of indie, you can download them online at a small reasonable fee of only 10 USD.
