iRobot Releasing New “Pool Boy” Butler

iRobot’s new Mirra 530 pool-cleaning robot could make your life a little less stressful as it cleans up the messes that come with owning one of the summer’s favorite past times.
The Mirra 530 pool-cleaning robot replaces iRobot’s Verro 500 model, and will become available this spring for $1,300. The robot uses a self-contained pump to vacuum and filter debris and dirt off of any pool surface.
Mirra 530 is supposedly cheaper to operate than a built-in system, and works faster too, finishing up a cleaning cycle in an hour.
The Mirra is able to map out an efficient cleaning routine to ensure it doesn’t end up tangling its power cord.
In order to run the pool robot butler, all you simply do is drop the machine into the pool, push the “Clean” button, and that’s it. The robot needs no installation and works without using the pool’s filtration system, hoses or booster pumps.
The robot’s 60-foot power cable floats, thus making it easer not to get all tangled up while its roving around the deep end.
The company’s installed PVA wheels on the Mirra 530 to give it a more sponge-like traction on slick pool surfaces, enabling it to climb up those wet descents found at the bottom of a pool. Mirra 530 features one motor to drive the robot and another to pump and filter the water.
iRobot’s new pool-boy can go through up to 70 gallons of water per minute, and filter out all the debris as it works its way around the pool. It can even automatically figure out the size of the pool.
The company will be unveiling the new pool-boy next week at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which redOrbit will be attending to bring you the latest details on upcoming products for the year.
iRobot also announced it be unleashing the Looj 330 gutter-cleaning robot internationally in the Spring for around $400.
Looj features a high-velocity, four-stage auger that spins at 500 RPM, helping to blast away dirt and clogs in the gutters of your home. All you have to do is place Looj 330 in your gutter and it travels down on its own, sensing and adapting to debris to provide the most effective cleaning.
The robot is waterproof in up to 8 inches of water, can be cleaned with a water hose, and travels under gutter straps and over downspout holes.
