Samsung launches the Galaxy S3 Mini, will be available starting Feb 2
If you’re looking for the premium feel of the successful Samsung Galaxy S3 but don’t need the powerful performance it provides nor the price it commands, then the miniature version Galaxy S3 Mini might be just the one you’re looking for.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini looks simply like the smaller version of the Galaxy S3. It sports a WVGA 4.0-inch Super AMOLED screen display, a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front one and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Rounding up the specs list is an average 1500mAh battery.
Specs look average for your low-midrange phone but the Super AMOLED screen and Jelly Bean OS puts it ahead of other phones in its class. It also has some nifty features you can get from other Samsung devices such as Smart Stay, which keeps the screen lit up as long as you’re looking at it. It also has Direct Call that lets you make a call to the person who’s message you’re reading simply by lifting the phone to your ear. Smart Alert conveniently alerts you to missed calls or messages as soon as you pick up your phone. Although not that useful on a 4.0-inch screen, the S3 Mini also has Pop Up Play which allows you to play a video anywhere on your screen while simultaneously running other tasks.
