This Year’s International CES Kicks Off With A Bang

Tuesday marked the first day of the 2013 International CES, and it was filled with plenty of attendees needing their gadget fix.
The big players set the pace on Monday, with big announcements like Sony’s 55-inch 4K OLED, and Samsung’s introduction to split-television viewing. However, the majority of exhibitors are smaller companies, just trying to get noticed.
Tuesday, redOrbit managed to get around to a few of the smaller brands to see what they have to offer.
MakerBot introduced a new Replicator 3D printer on Tuesday at the event, adding multi-material prints to its creations. The company also put out some new MakerWare software, which enables users to drag the 3D models directly to the printer.
Otterbox showed off its new iPhone Armor cases on the first day of the gigantic consumer electronics event. These cases are able to help keep your iPhone safe from pretty much anything you throw at it, or on it, capable of withstanding up to 2 tons of pressure.
The company also showed off its iON Intelligence case, throwing its name in the ring as one of those companies who aim to get more juice to your device. This case efficiently works by only allowing what your iPhone needs when keeping it charged.
Ten One Design introduced its new Pogo Connect Bluetooth Stylus during the show, giving users a pen for their device that is completely pressure sensitive.
Griffin also had a few things to show off in the iPhone and iPad accessories department, with its PowerDock 5. This handy tool is able to charge five of your iOS devices at once, meaning you have room for an iPad, iPad mini, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPod Nano.
BeCouply, a new iPhone application, also launched during CES this week here in Las Vegas. The application helps couples who struggle to come up with good date night ideas, offering some suggestions based upon their location.
Another hot product introduced yesterday was Rocstor’s Amphibious X5 hard drive. This amazing drive is able to keep your data more secure than Fort Knox, providing protection like a keypad lock for users to sign in, and real time hardware encryption.
