(Before It's News)

Google has reportedly offered to fund French publishing efforts as a gesture of offering an olive branch but this would not seem to be enough for Francisco Pinto Balsemao the European Publishers Council’s director. He thinks that the search giant and other such content aggregators should compensate publishers across Europe in a better fashion, as they’re obviously enjoying good profits from ads sold against content that’s finally available for free.

He didn’t specify any amount or explain just what represents compensation-worthy circumstances. Google does not have to worry at this point of time since Balsemao’s statements don’t signify an order. It will only be when the leader enjoys the support of all the 26 major content providers that Google will need to sit up and take notice. Till then it is only a bout of daydreaming.
