Owl Stuck in Car Grille Is No Hoot

Florida drivers are offering free rides for owls, whether the birds want a lift or not. Well, at least that’s one way to understand this hoot of a story.
Sonji Coney Williams’ SUV collided with a Great Horned Owl in central Florida last week, trapping the bird in the vehicle’s grille. Williams didn’t realize the owl had survived until a day later when another motorist flagged her down and pointed out the big yellow eyes staring out.

Florida Fish and Wildlife freed the trapped bird, which didn’t appear too traumatized from its unexpected journey through the Sunshine State.
