Sony: PS4 to be ‘new playing options, not only better hardware specs’
If an unnamed official is to be believed, PlayStation 4 from Sony Computer Entertainment will reportedly begin to act as more of a home entertainment hub than heretofore. Its main USP will not be its hardware so much as the new styles of playing, along the lines of Nintendo. Sony is going to position the new console as a home entertainment “nerve center,” which will be able to connect and share to mobile devices.
Currently mobile games are posing a very real threat to gaming using the traditional consoles. There is likely to be a dedicated share button on the next-gen controller. This has still to be confirmed officially but according to the grape wine the new PlayStation should be around by the end of the year. Too bad that it is only February and fans will have to wait a while.
