(Before It's News)

Vodafone India’s Enterprise oriented arm Vodafone Business Services (VBS) disclosed an interesting roadmap wherein ‘Wireline Business’ made up an important contributing factor. With as much as 20% of the company’s total revenue expected from this endeavor, Vodafone is trying to position itself very strongly as a service provider of tools and technologies to manage the communication services for its enterprise level customers.

Why Wireline?

Vodafone’s perception as a reliable Mobile Service Provider is quite well spread. In fact the company is routinely appreciated for its strong backend & exceptional coverage. However, the mobile sphere is heavily competitive. This means low margins & high investments. Not to mention the companies involved have to routinely spend Crores to procure or renew licenses that may or may not last as assured.

Other important aspects of Wireline Business are the ability to provide ultra-high speed internet & near-zero down-time. Vodafone & a few other telecom players like Airtel already offer a bouquet of wireline services like Internet Leased Lines, Virtual Private Networks, Voice & Video Conferencing facilities, etc.

But, so far, these were merely considered to be an extension of the company’s capabilities. Now they will be an important part of the entire package being offered to large corporations, who are looking for ultra-secure & high speed communication tools that work on reliable infrastructure.

Interestingly, unlike other companies Vodafone has a product package for all sizes of industries. Be it, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) or large Government departments, Vodafone, via its team of dedicated Account Managers and Service Managers has tried to bring in a streamlined approach to a highly disrupted field of communication tools.

Vodafone seems to have wisely chosen to offer last-mile wired connectivity. Additionally, thanks to more than 120,000 km of digital optical fiber, optimally suited for ultra-high speed data transmission, all it now needs is clients that choose to rely on a telecom service provider to deploy & take care of all their communication needs.
