(Before It's News)

After dropping the price of its gaming device PS Vita in Japan, Sony is offering a heavy discount on its 3G bundle in stores in the United States. This news comes as a time when gamers in the US had given up hope that the electronic giant would bring down prices in their country.

PS Vita

This offer isn’t currently available at all the stores in the US. But a lot of stores, that our sources were in contact with, after offering PS Vita at less than the marked $199 price.

There hasn’t been an official announcement by Sony that it’s going to decrease the price of its gaming console.

This has created much confusion in gaming circles.

Moreover explanations for why different Sony stores are offering the same product as different prices are varying from store to store, sometimes even within a store.

A few store employees when on to speculate the trend heralds the end of PS Vita.

The Sony online shop in the US is still selling both the WiFi and 3G models of this device for $249. This suggests the prices may get even lower in coming months.
