Yesterday, BlackBerry made a shocking announcement stating the carrier won’t be featuring the latest flagship BlackBerry Z10 that comes with the rejuvenated BlackBerry 10 OS. BlackBerry fans using Sprint are sure to face an irritating problem.
Bloomberg reports say that Sprint, American 3rd biggest carrier will not add the soon to be released BlackBerry Z10 to the latest lineup. This move would make Sprint the only key carrier in the U.S not selling the Z10. Instead another BlackBerry device, Q10 will go on sale through Sprint. The Q10 offers BlackBerry’s signature QWERTY keypad along with a small touch screen.
Mark Elliott, Sprint spokesman told Bloomberg that the company knows its customers quite well and thinks they’ll appreciate the BlackBerry Q10 with its handy QWERTY keypad and the small touch screen. The spokesman refused to comment on the BlackBerry Z10 issue and informed that the BlackBerry Q10 would be available at the end of 2013.
The BlackBerry Z10 will hit the American market in March or early April. T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and AT&T have already started signing up customers for pre orders. Verizon Wireless will offer the BlackBerry Z10 for $199 under a 2 year contract.
The BlackBerry Q10 will also be featured by Verizon and AT&T.
