Contrary to conventional wisdom, it turns out that adults are worse than teenagers when it comes to texting while driving
That’s according to the results of a survey conducted by AT&T and published in USA Today, showing that 49% of adult drivers admit to texting behind the wheel. Compare that with 43% of the teen respondents admitting that they text while driving.
The most troublesome part of the survey of 1,011 adult drivers: A surprising 60% of the adult respondents said that three years ago, they never texted while driving. And it’s not surprising that 98% of the adult respondents said they knew texting or emailing while driving was unsafe.
