D.B. Root & Company Raises more than $13,000 for Make-A-Wish

D.B. Root & Company, one of Western Pennsylvania’s largest independent wealth management and financial planning firms, continued their support of Make-A-Wish by holding a charity golf outing at Diamond Run Country Club for clients, sponsors and partners of the firm on October 7th. Through tournament fees, sponsorships and prize auctions, D. B. Root & Company raised a total of $13,320.
Special guests at the event included Anthony, a Make-A-Wish child who recently received a trip to Orlando, Florida. “Anthony is an inspiration and hero to anyone who knows his story, and sees his great courage. Having him attend the event allowed everyone to see first-hand what can be accomplished through events like these,” stated David Hoffmann, Anthony’s uncle and D.B. Root & Company Vice President.
Leigh Ann Lubarsky, Manager of Program Services for Make-A-Wish, accepted the donation during dinner at the event, “We are very grateful to D.B. Root & Company, their entire team and all of those who participated. With the funds raised, we will be able to grant the wishes of more children – which I consider to be the greatest job in the world.”
D.B. Root & Company further supports the Make-A-Wish Wishes in Flight program, which allows unused frequent flyer miles to be donated to cover travel expenses of the children while their wishes are granted.
“The entire team participated and contributed to the event, and we are very proud to have achieved such results for such an amazing organization. We will continue to support them throughout the year” stated David Root, CEO.
