Despite the obvious idea of building solar farms in sunny places, the feasibility of solar energy projects in northern climates is also being studied. Michigan Technological University’s Keweenaw Research Center (KRC) is now a part of a two-year study that aims to gauge how snow affects solar panels’ power generation and determine the best ways to overcome any losses.
