(Before It's News)

Western Digital just announced the availability of their My Passport Slim portable external drive in 2TB capacity, making it one of the first thin drives to do so.

WD-My-Passport-Slim

The new My Passport Slim is now enclosed in metal casing for added protection and is also equipped with a 256-bit hardware-based encryption for added security. It supports USB 3.0 and comes with the WD Smartware Pro data protection software for easy backup of your files to the WD drive plus to your Dropbox account if you have one.

This portable drive measures a scant 4.33 x 3.14 x 0.48-inches and also comes in a 1TB version. The 2TB capacity retails for Php8,490 while the 1TB version goes for Php5,190.

Each WD My Passport Slim drive is protected with a 3-year limited warranty and is available at selected retailers and distributed by EA Global Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. and Iontech.
