Action Launcher has reached version 2.0, and developer Chris Lacy has taken his home replacement to new levels. Sure, Nova and Apex Launchers are the more popular kids in school, but Action Launcher strives to be something better.
Action Launcher 2.0 introduces Android 4.4 KitKat style themes, but you don’t necessarily have to use them. You can still stick with Holo dark, which is nice that that option was added. But the best features have got to be the 1-swipe quickdrawer and quickpages. This shines whole new light on how we multitask. You can enable the 1-swipe feature in the settings, then you will be able to utilize it within any app you are currently in. The activation areas will light up once you open an app, and even though this feature still needs a little work, it is very nice to have. What is awesome too, is the fact that you don’t have to actually be using Action Launcher to use the feature. You can be in a whole other launcher, and still have quick access to an app drawer and a quickpage to jump between apps. Like I said at the beginning; striving to be better.
To be able to place any widgets or apps on the quick page is just convenient. Accompanied by the already delightful shutter widgets, you save more space on your homescreen than you ever have before. I actually have only one homescreen with this launcher, because I utilize all the launcher has to offer for access to my widgets and apps.
So I highly suggest trying out Action Launcher, because for one, it is something way different from the ordinary launchers, and two, because it is free to use. It used to cost money to get the full pro version, but Lacy is being the awesome guy that he is and is letting everyone try it out for free. Also check my video run-through down below, so you can get an idea of how you can use it. Let us know how you like it.
