(Before It's News)

android 4.4 for lg g2LG‘s latest flagship smartphone, the LG G2, is one of the latest and greatest phone that you can get right now. Sporting the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 2GB RAM and all the bells and whistles, there’s very little that the G2 is missing compared to its competitors. However, since it was launched with Android 4.2, which was surprising seeing as Android 4.3 was announced just a few weeks before, it’s left a lot of owners and potential buyers wondering when the G2 would be updated to Android 4.3, let alone Android’s latest version, Android 4.4 KitKat.

LG Canada is now saying that the G2 can its update to Android 4.4 to be ready in late in Q1 2014, i.e. March. This of course is only the Canadian schedule, but presumably the rest of the world will have their G2′s updated in and around this time too. Skipping Android 4.3 will hopefully allow the G2 to catch up to the likes of the Note 3 and Nexus 5 who have had the benefit of better Android optimization since their respective launches.
