In bid to enhance its user base, Dhingana has collaborated with GMobi to preload its music app on 1-million devices. As a result of the partnership Dhingana’s app will come pre loaded on Intex, Zen, Hitech, m-Tech and Maxx devices, which are rebranded General Mobiles smartphones in India.
Speaking about the collaboration,Rohit Bhatia, CEO of Dhingana said, “Since inception Dhingana has adopted smart means to acquire users and as a result we have surpassed 9 million MAUs. Our partnership with GMobi is another initiative in the same direction. The exponentially growing demand for music streaming in India coupled with Dhingana’s and G-Mobi’s leadership in their respective domains will make the partnership successful.”
Dhingana says the services will be integrated with the device at manufacturers’ site in China. Last month, Dhingana partnered for a music subscription service with Idea Cellular which allows users to download unlimited music with no data charges. Founded in 2007, the music streaming service claimed that it has over 9 million users monthly active users.
GMobi has integrated mobile apps and contents to more than 500 device models within past 18 months. “The growth of Android devices in emerging market in 2013 exceeded everyone’s expectations and the hunger for quality mobile contents has never been stronger. We are really excited to partner with quality mobile music providers such as Dhingana so millions of our mobile users can enjoy the service,” said Amit Dey, Managing Director of GMobi India.
Dhingana’s music app is present on all the major platforms like Android, iOS, Windows 8, BlackBerry, Nokia, Amazon Kindle. The line between feature phones and low end smartphones has almost blurred and has therefore increased the shift to the latter. Hence, pre-installed apps on such smartphones help the company as most of these new users resist indulging into app downloads.
