Just Dial is all set to launch an online marketplace and transaction platform. Dubbed as Search Plus service, the initiative will enable local merchants to sell online various branded goods such as mobile phones, camera, etc. These goods will also be sold by neighborhood stores participating through the platform.
The online Classifieds and Listings host expects that this online platform will significantly benefit SME’s offering various products and services. Users will also be able to rate various vendors regarding services provided, which will provide valuable inputs to other users. Just Dial said that it will not be involved in fulfillment of products or services, nor will it build warehouses or own any inventory. But, the company will not be engaged in e-commerce directly, instead will focus on connecting its customers with local merchants and will allow consumers to browse catalogs and place orders online.
The company has said that users could expect same day delivery since the local merchants will be delivering the products themselves. Some of the other service expected to be launched include ordering of flowers, groceries and fixing appointments with doctors, etc.
Last month we reported that Just Dial plans to offer holistic e-retailing solutions and in-house software development. In October the company reported a 98% jump in net profit for the Q3 and announced its plan to launch the online marketplace. Just Dial also launched online food ordering service in 16 cities in India.
