LG Allegedly Working On G2 Mini Variant
Following moves from competing smartphone manufacturers, LG is allegedly (according to new rumors) looking to create an LG G2 Mini variant. The specs are pretty light with only the 2 GB of RAM being somewhat certain. That said, like all rumor type material, the RAM amount could definitely change.
The news comes not even a day after it was revealed that LG suffered pretty poor sales of the G2 – just 2.3 million since launch over four months ago. Simply making a Mini version is more of a “me too” move that is unlikely to help the situation. What LG could do is buck the trend that their biggest foe, Samsung has employed: taking a flagship name/brand and miniturize it, along with giving it far less desirable specs. If LG can make a G2 Mini but keep most or all of the G2′s innards in tact, they’ll have a much more appetizing device on paper and almost certainly a much better experience in hand.
