Quechua rugged 5-inch Android smartphone announced

Being an active person has its benefits, and if you spend a lot of time outdoors you might need a smartphone that won’t be damaged as soon as it drops to the floor, and today’s rugged smartphone might be just what you need.



If you’re into mountain climbing then you’re probably familiar with Quechua brand, and this company has teamed up with smartphone maker Archos to create a rugged smartphone that will be perfect for those who spend a lot of time outdoors. Quecha’s rugged 5-inch Android-powered smartphone is resistant to shock, mud, water, sand, snow and extremely cold temperatures, so it will work in harsh environments. Regarding the specs, this device comes with 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor on a Qualcomm chipset, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal memory, microSD card slot, 3,500 mAh battery and reinforced rear-facing camera. There’s also 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and a microUSB port, and as for software this smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

If you’re an outdoor person Quecha’s rugged 5-inch Android-powered smartphone might be just what you need, and as for the price, it’s priced at €230 ($313), but there’s no information regarding the availability.
