(Before It's News)

galaxy note 3 and galaxy gearThe large majority of Samsung‘s advertisements tend to be hit and miss, ranging from really quite cool and informative to a slight waste of time and money. Unfortunately, this latest advert, featuring superstar Robin Thicke advertising the new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear, is closer to the latter category. Check out the ad below:

Without reading into it too much, it looks like the ad is pretty much trying to piggy-back off the wild popularity of Thicke’s song, Blurred Lines and Thicke’s star power. While the ad does showcase one feature of the  Note 3, which is being able to interact with your phone through the S-Window, it only features the Gear smartwatch in passing and really doesn’t feature all that much about the Note 3 either. Having said that though, Samsung says this is only the first ad of a 3 part series which will feature Thicke using the Note 3 and Gear as only a Hollywood star can, though I can’t say that information is terrible encouraging. I guess we’ll see in the next advertisement.

What do you think about this ad? Do you think phone companies are turning to star power too much to advertise their products? Let us know what you think in the comments.
