The countdown to the Galaxy S5′s reveal sometime in the sprint time doesn’t mean Samsung is done with flogging the S4 for all its worth. Word on the streets (and the accompanying pictures) depict a special, Russian bound Galaxy S4 and S4 mini “Black Edition” that feature a leather back similar to the one found on the Galaxy Note 3. Underneath the faux leather, specs are pretty much the same as other non-Black Edition S4s: Qualcomm 600 quad-core CPU running at 1.9 GHz, Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera, 16 GB of internal storage (plus microSD expandability), WiFi/LTE/Bluetooth 4.0/NFC, a 2,600 mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The S4 mini Black Edition mirrors the same drop in specs as the normal S4s with a 4.3-inch qHD display, Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor running at 1.7 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, an 8 megapixel camera and 1,900 mAh battery.
Pricing for the Black Edition S4s is set at $660 and $460 respectively (USD).
