Healthcare Firm eVaidya Raises Rs 3.5 Cr From Various Investors
Healthcare startup eVaidya has received funding worth Rs 3.5 Cr from a group of investors, including Venkat Vallabhaneni, former vice president, Bank of America. Two new investors also contributed in this latest round of funding. A major chunk of the raised funds will be used in technology development and to enhance the growth.
eVaidya.com is a telemedicine portal that was started by Jayadeep Reddy. It has a panel of over 500 doctors and over 40,000 registered customers and it enables free patient-doctor interaction through a health forum. In addition to this, eVaidya also stores personal health records of its customers for free.
“Our focus is to make primary healthcare easy, quickly accessible and cost-effective by creating innovative consumer-driven healthcare solutions for individuals and employers, with the support of a multi-specialty group of doctors on our board,” said Jayadeep Reddy, CEO, eVaidya.
The portal runs a dedicated medical helpline wherein doctors are available 24/7 for advice.Patients can interact with the doctors over telephone or mobile, video conference, chat or email. eVaidya has also developed medical kiosks which are an ideal option for corporates to keep a tab on their employees’ health at any given point of time. The firm is also in talks with several state governments to set up kiosks in rural areas.
Earlier in Jaunuary, Online Healthcare startup OurHealthMate received a seed funding of $440K from angel investors.
