Moto G which was exclusively available on Flipkart post midnight yesterday, has been sold out. The online portal announced within about two hours of the launch that the 8 GB and 16GB variant, which is priced at Rs. 12,499 and Rs 13,999 respectively was no longer available to buy. However, earlier this morning, Flipkart assured that it will add a limited stock of the phone on its portal till noon. Meanwhile, Snapdeal has also started pre booking of the MotoG but it will ship the phone only after three weeks.
Moto G Stock had been added to Flipkart at the time of writing this article. So if you were unable to order the phone last night, you can try now. The phone is touted to be value for money and has garnered a roaring success in India. It has already been launched in several markets before it has finally reached India and has got a phenomenal response.
Motorola was also recently in the limelight for getting acquired by Lenovo. For Motorola, the Indian market had been a bitter experience in the past, so much so that the manufacturer had to shut shop and had stopped selling devices in India in 2008. Motorola presently does not have any presence in India – be it retail channels or after sales service partners.
The launch of Moto G will surely put pressure on other mid segment smartphone makers like Micromax and Samsung. Hopefully, the phone which undeniably offers great features at the given price tag will bring Motorla back in the smartphone game soon.
[Update] There seems to be a 7 day delivery delay for those orders which were made in the afternoon today. Flipkart sent email/Sms to the users saying that the delay is due to circumstances beyond their control. For those who ordered today, the deliveries are expected to be done by 17 February instead of the previous 10th February.
