While there have been countless rumors about the upcoming iPhone 6, the company behind the device might have accidentally leaked information about the device while preparing for its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2014), if recent media reports are accurate.

Video captured by French language website Nowhereelse.fr purportedly showing a full render of the device obtained as Apple was preparing for next week’s event. While the footage has not been verified, it is clear that the handset pictured is not a currently available iPhone model.

“In the first image of the front of the phone, you might think there’s no way to tell whether it’s an iPhone 6 or an iPhone 5s, but the next slide of the back of the phone is quite obviously not any iPhone model currently on the market,” explained BGR’s Brad Reed.

“Instead, the look of the device aligns well with the dozens of leaked mockups we’ve seen that supposedly resemble Apple’s upcoming 4.7-inch flagship phone,” he added. “The device in the video has more curved edges than the iPhone 5s and the design of the rear housing is nothing like Apple’s current iPhones.”

However, there is reason to be dubious about the video, in part because of its low quality, Reed noted. In addition, Apple is not expected to demonstrate any new hardware during the WWDC – so it wouldn’t exactly make sense for them to be preparing for the conference by demonstrating a next-generation smartphone.

Whether or not the iPhone 6 makes its debut during next week’s event, Anna Peel of ValueWalk.com pointed out Saturday that there have been countless rumors surrounding the smartphone. For example, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo claims that the device will include a smaller and thinner design, a 4.7 inch Retina display, an A8 processor, and 1GB of RAM.

One thing that is expected to be revealed when the WWDC kicks off on Monday, June 2 in San Francisco is iOS 8, the latest version of the Cupertino, California firm’s mobile operating system. In addition, Peel said that there is “a good chance” that Apple will publically unveil the iWatch sometime this summer, and that the smart watch is expected to be compatible with the next version of the iPhone.

In early May, various media outlets reported that iPhone 6 could be released in August, one month earlier than had been expected. Those claims, which were attributed to unnamed sources in Apple’s supply chain, also said that it would be made available in two different sizes: a 4.7-inch screen version, which would be due out first, followed by a larger 5.5-inch or 5.6-inch “phablet” model in September.
