New solution – “Apply with Vitae” – offers application automation tools to help thousands of academic job seekers and employers
AUSTIN, Texas, May 15, 2014 — The Chronicle of Higher Education Inc. and PeopleAdmin today announced “Apply with Vitae,” a new solution to make academic job searches easier and less expensive. Candidates can now apply for jobs at hundreds of PeopleAdmin client institutions by seamlessly transferring standard application information from their Vitae profile. The announcement was made at PeopleConnect 2014, PeopleAdmin’s annual client conference.  Vitae, the new online career hub from The Chronicle of Higher Education, provides members with free career management advice and tools, including a dossier service.

“Matching the best talent with the right position is the lifeblood of any college, and we are pleased to partner with PeopleAdmin to simplify this important process,” says Mireille Grangenois, publisher of The Chronicle of Higher Education and Vitae. “Academics can now apply for thousands of jobs using Vitae profile information and the free dossier service — making their job search easier and less expensive.”

“With millions of job applications submitted each year, colleges and universities are constantly seeking better ways to reduce costs and manage the institution’s scarce resources,” says Troy Winskowicz, Vice President of Product Management from PeopleAdmin, “By combining PeopleAdmin’s applicant-tracking capabilities with Vitae’s career-management tools and networking, this partnership will streamline how applications are submitted and received at hundreds of colleges and universities.”

Starting this month, members of the Vitae community will be able to use the free “Apply with Vitae” service to export information from their Vitae profile and dossier directly into the online job applications at the hundreds of PeopleAdmin partner institutions. That one-step approach will save them time and money in their job search by allowing them to use the same information to apply for multiple jobs.

Since The Chronicle of Higher Education launched Vitae in October 2013, faculty and administrators from more than 2,500 institutions have joined the online community. Vitae is dedicated to making life easier for academics and administrators by providing:

  • A community of academics and administrators that enables users to build meaningful connections with others in their discipline and beyond, identify new funding opportunities, spotlight their work and experience, and be found by potential collaborators.
  • Career management tools, including a free dossier service, that allow users to manage the search process for all positions, request letters of recommendations and submit applications, compile tenure files, import their CV (curriculum vitae).
  • A comprehensive source of jobs in higher education, including executive level opportunities and entry-level positions, all presented to a career-minded audience of faculty and administrators.
  • Original news and career advice from Chronicle writers and Vitae Voices, an array of leading higher-education experts with unique perspectives on the important issues transforming higher education today.
