Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted the invitation of tomorrow’s oath taking ceremony of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, but with his non-presence at the event due to prior engagements.
The PM is said to be deputing Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu as the representative of Union Government on Friday, November 20, at the gala event with the attendance of Chief Ministers of nine states.
According to Bihar BJP vice-president Sanjay Mayukh, the PM would not be able to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar on Friday due to his prior fixed programmes.
Mayukh added Venkaiah Naidu and Minister of State Rajiv Pratap Rudy would be attending the event at Gandhi Maidan in Patna representing the Union government.
Meanwhile, the Bihar Chief Ministers’ Office has released a list of guests who have been invited for the ceremony and it includes Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, former Indian Prime Minister H D Devegowda, National Conference counterpart Farooq Abdullah and also Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.
Chief Ministers of nine states including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and UP CM Akhilesh Yadav have also been invited.
If believed to the sources, Nitish Kumar has personally teleophoned to all the leaders for the invitations with request to attend the event.
