Modi Stresses Reforms In Singapore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised today in his two-day Singapore visit about bringing more reforms to make India more attractive for foreign investments. He also assured the investors the GST regime would be rolled out next year in the country.

The two countries today signed a slew of nearly agreements that included enhanced defence cooperation, shipping and civil aviation and also closer ties in cyber security.

Modi Stresses Reforms In Singapore

The second day was a ceremonial welcome for Modi by the Singapore President Tony Tan Keng at his official residence at Istana.

Joint declaration of the two leaders said the two countries have taken their relationships to a strategic partnership in broadening engagements in existing cooperation areas as well as catalysing new ones in several segments including security, defence, political, economic and cultural.

Loan extension of artifacts to the Asian Civilisations Museum of Singapore was also signed apart from MoU between Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Singapore’s Cyber Security Agency on security cooperation, and the Indian IT department and Singapore Computer Emergency Response Team (SingCERT).

In his banquet address Modi said Singapore is a symbol of aspiration for people and apart from this it is a source of inspiration for the nation.
