Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hopes to yield trade deals in his Britain visit worth billions of dollars. More to this, he will also be able to boost up his authority after the electoral debacle in Bihar last Sunday. He will surely try to regain his political initiative with the increase in investment and growth as well.

If believed to diplomats, in his three-day visit the PM may strike deals worth up to 12 billion pounds. UK may buy twenty more BAE Systems Hawk trainer aircraft that will be made in Bangaluru.

The Friday’s mass rally at Wembley Stadium is said to be the emotional high point of Modi during which he will address about 60,000 Indian people in London.

Meanwhile, over 200 writers including Salman Rushdie, Nikita Lalwani and Ian McEwan have urged the British Prime Minister David Cameron through an open letter to raise concerns about freedom of expression in India.

There are protests too by various groups opposing to Modi for the aggressive Hindu nationalist agenda of his party. British media has also widely criticized such feel of BJP.

Modi will be addressing the British parliament too today after meeting Cameron and holding joint press conference. Later he will be heading to the historic building Guildhall to give his speech to business audience.
