China Polyether Monomer Industry Forecast Report 2015-2018
Overview
In 2014 the capacity of polyether monomers used for water reducing agent in China exceeded 1300 thousand tons. Currently there are over 30 domestic manufacturers, among which, 9 of above players achieved a capacity over 40 thousand tons/a.
Clariant built up an ethoxylation plant in Daya Bay of Guangdong Province in the early 2011 with a capacity of 50 thousand tons/a and expanded up to 100 thousand tons/a in 2014. Oxiranchem announced a project of 120 thousand tons/a epoxy derivatives new materials in 2013, which contains a polyether monomers plant with a capacity of 60 thousand tons/a. The ethoxylation plant of Levima has went into operation in the fourth quarter of 2014, and the company planned to add another 60 thousand tons/a capacity for producing of polyether monomers.

Along with the rapid development of polycarboxylate water reducing agent, the consumption of polyether monomers used for polycarboxylate water reducing agent experienced a relatively fast growth from 2006-2014 with a CAGR of 56.3%.
