Apple Targets Indian, Chinese Consumers With New 4-Inch iPhone SE

Finally the much awaited smaller and cheaper iPhone has arrived. Apple launched today iPhone SE at an event in California. Priced tagged between $399 and $499, the device is power packed and similar to iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in terms of specification. Look wise it is similar to iPhone 5s.
During the launching the Apple vice president of iPhone Product Marketing Greg Joswiak said the target market for the new device would be China arguing Chinese buyers tend to start off with a 4-inch screen.
However, the growth of popular domestic brands contradict as Xiaomi and Vivo are bigger in sizes, similar to the iPhone 6 and bigger too.
Apple is eyeing China as it is the second-biggest market for the iDevices and India is considered as one of the fastest-growing major markets. About a quarter of Apple’s total revenues come from China, reveals stats.
Analysts say a big screen is highly valued in China and India as people there considers smartphone as the main connection to the digital world.
Most of the brands under $100 sports five-inch screen in India as people are mostly prefering bigger screen size if they are unable to own a tablet or laptop.
Data reveals only 10 percent smartphones sold at the end of December in India had a four-inch screen and the share of Apple phone was just two percent.
